CBC report on converting semis to full auto

“RCMP tests show some firearms can be converted to fully automatic” published on the 23rd off October 2015. I’ll put a link in the show notes.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/rcmp-tests-show-some-firearms-can-be-converted-to-fully-automatic-1.3284661

I want to address a couple of items with this story. Not the least of which is the subtitle

“Many semi-automatic rifles are susceptible to improvised deadly upgrades”

Also this statement by Peter Henschel, RCMP deputy commissioner
“We have demonstrated that there are some weapons that are susceptible to being fired in full automatic mode.”Henschel declined to provide details, except to say that “mid-range calibre [weapons] based on a military or paramilitary design” are more susceptible to the technique.”

As far as I know the shooter had a PAL and used a Norinco M305

It seems to me that the only person making sense in the article is Stephen Blaney “Altering a firearm for fully automatic fire is illegal in Canada. Violators could be subject to a lengthy prison sentence of up to 10 years.”

Topic

Uniting all Canadian gun owners

How do we reach as many gun owners as possible?
How do we end divisiveness between different kinds of gun owners?
There is a lot of negativity on the forums and facebook groups, how can we combat that?
